"Crunchy" is a term that we often use to describe natural wool that is minimally processed and may be a bit more rugged or "scratchy" than the soft, superwash yarns that we use so often these days. Crunchy wool is a bit more rustic and may also have bits of grass or "chaff" in the fibers, and may even retain some of the natural lanolin.
