With US Size 2/2.75mm circular needle, or size to obtain gauge, and MC, cast on 112 (124, 136) st using cable cast-on method. Do not join yet.
Row 1 (RS): [K2, p2] rep bet brackets to end of row. Join to work in the round and pm to denote BOR.
Work in [k2, p2] ribbing for 2 in/5 cm (you will rep bet the brackets for each round to establish ribbing).
Transition to stockinette stitch on the next round (using the same needle size), and increase as follows: [K8 (11, 17), M1L] rep bet brackets 14 (11, 8) times, k0 (3, 0) to end – 126 (135, 144) st
